Shoppers Drug Mart is a household name across Canada so it comes as no surprise that they launched their two-storey flagship store at one of Canada’s most iconic locations – Toronto’s Yonge & Dundas Square. Shoppers Drug Mart wanted to design a store with an experience unlike any other location in Canada while paying homage to the building’s previous tenant, the former Hard Rock Café.ICON took an omni-channel approach in designing this store incorporating both large format graphics and digital signage to create a one-of-a-kind experience. The main floor features large format displays including fabric frames and a visual magnetics wall allowing for simple DIY installations – a great solution for spaces with frequent campaign changeouts. ICON Media installed various digital displays throughout the store including LED videowalls throughout the beauty boutique, LCD displays in the pharmacy and main entrance, an outdoor LED videowall, and a massive 2-storey elevator LED. All screens display branded content and are scheduled by ICON’s network operations control centre. Two interactive displays were designed for this flagship store. The first, is a touch-receptive Quo brush bar where users can simply touch a brush on display which will bring up the product’s information on the LED videowall in front of them. The second, is a touchscreen LCD videowall on the store’s second floor that pays homage to the Hard Rock Café. Users can scroll through the Hard Rock’s history while learning more about the rock and roll memorabilia still on display.
