This year, ICON was honored to become the first-ever official print partner of Team Canada. The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics marked a significant return to normalcy in society, reviving the spirit and greatness of the event. This prestigious partnership allowed us to help spread Canadian pride and spirit into the Olympic Village and in provinces across Canada for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The task of developing print assets for both the Canada Olympic House and Athletes Village was monumental, but we were ready for the challenge.
Canada Olympic House required several elements to immerse fans and family members of athletes in the full Canadian spirit as they watched the opening ceremonies and Olympic events.
We developed print assets for multiple areas within the interior of Canada Olympic House. The Canadian Tire Celebratory Stage was adorned with red and white pillows we produced, providing comfort and showcasing Canadian pride for those supporting the athletes. All bars and coffee stands featured red vinyl graphics, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere.
Inside the locker room area, ICON created custom Team Canada keychain locks for each individual locker, adding a personalized touch. Outside at the Air Canada Flight Deck, we transformed the stairs with red vinyl flooring, further encompassing the Canadian Spirit.
A short distance away at Athletes Village, we ensured athletes felt their Canadian pride just as strongly as their fans and family members at Canada Olympic House. We adorned the exterior of Canada's residence in Athletes Village with red and white vinyl window graphics, featuring an outlined maple leaf and our country's name proudly written in white across the windows. This design beautifully blended the maple leaf and Canadian font, truly capturing the essence of the Canadian spirit.
Back home in Canada, Team Canada organized Fanfest, a series of events across Toronto, Calgary and Montreal to rally support and spirit for the Canadian Olympic team. We helped to furnish these events. Each fanfest featured a designated area for watching the games, filled with red banners showcasing the ample leaf. Chairs were equipped with pillows to ensure comfort while cheering on the home team.
Behind the viewing areas, we set up numerous tents adorned in red, along with a fabric backdrop featuring our country’s name, creating the perfect photo opportunities for attendees. The festivities also included stations where fans could try out three different Olympic events. We equipped each station with printed backdrops in Canada’s iconic red and white, along with informative displays on the history of the sport in Olympics, enriching the fan experience with some rich sports history.
Working with Team Canada was an unbelievable experience that ICON was honored to be a part of. The task of creating print assets for Canada Olympic House and Athletes Village in Paris, along with several activations across Canada, was a significant undertaking. We successfully furnished all these events, helping to bring the Canadian spirit to Paris in support of our inspiring athletes. We are excited to continue our work with Team Canada in the coming years.
