Stationed under Toronto’s Gardner Expressway, The Bentway is a growing organization and public space. With its goal of building, experiencing, activating, and valuing shared spaces, The Bentway uses its resources for public art to connect urban life in Toronto. As part of this initiative, ICON partnered with The Bentway and Exhibition Place Team to provide print graphics for the newest immersive art experience, Confluence.Created by artist Striped Canary, the Confluence exhibit features the picnic table as a dynamic sculptural installation that mimics the convergence of natural and human-made forces. As such, ICON provided vinyl wraps, window vinyl, and directional signage on both the ground and columns throughout the entirety of the Bentway trail stretching almost 2km in length. The content of the visual graphics was synchronized across the space to extend the exhibition for visitors and compliment the atmosphere of the surrounding area. It not only attracted more people to the exhibit but provided information on the installation itself along with the artist. While the immersive art piece is only temporary, ICON certainly left a lasting impression and we look forward to our continued partnership at The Bentway.
